caucus
She attended my precinct caucus.
And, I THINK I recognize her (as perhaps the only non-volunteer/helper attendee
to thank me).
And, as her precinct captain during 2006 and 2007,
I definitely recognize her name.
No wonder she was shy about posting too many details
about her Caucus Day experience. Reno's "#1" blogger
attending a caucus run by a third rate, loudmouth
blogger, lol. I'm wondering now if she was anxious
about me "finding her out". I can remember many names
in her building and she was NOT suspected to be Myrna.
I thought Myrna was younger.

No secrets

First, Derby has not been Chair since February so she has ample time to make a committment and get off the fence. After she resigned she was no longer a delegate or bound by the caucusux rules. Derby owes it to CD2 voters to declare where political philosophies most aligned with now that she is not Chair and allow them to make a choice based thereon.
As for Derby, no, I/we will not vote for her because I think we can do better - a helluva lot better.
Have you ever stopped to think how we get rotten Dems in office in the first place (e.g., Boss Reid)? It's because too many will pull the D lever without a hard look at who they are voting for. Have you looked at the investigation against Derby by the Secretary of State? Have you looked into the disasterous fiscal situation she left the NDSP in? Have you looked carefully into her contributors thus far?
If you have not looked into these matters very closely, then you value your vote little and are quite happy to fritter it away simply because Derby claims to be a "D". If Derby were a real "D", wouldn't she be getting support from the DCCC? Look at her contributors closely, Sir.
Voting is always a matter of choosing between the worse of two evils and, in this case, and considering her record as stated above (and not contested any further by you), Derby is the worse of the two evils until we can get a better candidate.
Heller can be knocked off easily in '10 by a much more qualified candidate so I'll bide my time 'til then.

it's no real secret that you don't like Jill Derby. So what's your suggestion then? Another Heller term? Really?
As for your sixth point, it's probably the most dishonest one as Jill Derby had no choice as party chair but to remain uncommitted, otherwise risking the caucus in its entirety.
So, really, what are you gonna do? Do, instead of talk. Stay home and help Heller win, or just outright vote for Heller?

Thy shalt not...

Thy shalt not incubate thy fowl antecedent to incubation.
Comparing the MS and LA wins to CD2 is a pretty slippery slope as denoted below.
First, the MS contest did not involve an incumbent. Moreover, it did not involve an incumbent who is out PRing the challenger like a cat toying with a mouse. In his two years as an incumbent, Heller has become quite masterful at getting free PR while the challenger has yet to even articulate any sort of cogent platform at all.
Second, the Dems matched the repugs dollar-for-dollar (about $1.3 million) in the MS contest showing significant D.C. support. Conversely, the challenger in CD2 is yet to get any significant DCCC contributions or obtain any significant Dem endorsements. She is, in fact, running on "E" already in contributions and the contest is yet to start.
Third, the challenger in CD2 does, in fact, have a "record" to also be held accountable for which is the way she ran the NSDP into the ground while promoting her own political aspirations. An "audit" and other assessments have been conducted of the actual situation the NSDP finds itself in post-Derby and this will be a subject of great discussion this weekend in Reno.
Fourth, despite all the hoopla, CD 2 does remain quite red although the margin since '06 has shrunk.
Fifth, the challenger seems to be unable to lose the distinctive title of "loser to Heller" in the media as her sole claim to fame.
Sixth, the CD2 challenger sat on the sidelines while her District went overwhelmingly for Obama. The chance to get his help has long passed although she will attempt to get a free ride after contributing nothing to his support in Nevada.

a great chance to talk with people
and, to get a sense of what they're thinking.
There will be a need to correct some serious mis and disinformation out there. Especially all those weird memes
infecting so many via email blasts. (like, the Obama is a Muslim one.)
Also, this Vote for Change event could be an opportunity to begin healing relationships among supporters of C and O.
But, realistically, we're probably going to need a "party of the century" to get the ball rolling in that department.
Given what is happening in some other Congressional Districts
(in other states), it looks like Derby will probably win this time. I guess Heller is working hard (or his people are) in trying to figure out how to paint a picture of Derby. Probably won't work this time. More so than ever, people are paying more attention and have demonstrated an ability to see through such manipulations of imagery.
