find a post partisan candidate............
We need to have a post partisan "Democrat" run against Harry. If you haven't gone post partisan, you lose. Reid is a partisan.
Numbers do not lie. McCain beat Obama in CD 2 by about 600 votes. And, Heller beat Derby by about 35,000.

Harry isn't going anywhere unless Harry wants to go. It would be in the best interest of Nevada that he remains just where he is. He made big changes and practically rebranded Nevada as a battleground state when he had the Nevada caucuses date changed. Let's see what those Dakotas got once they ejected Daschle. Fucking NOTHING.
The interesting thing will be who the non party challenger will be in the primary once Harry leaves. But that won't be for a while.

Because brilliant minds think alike. I have been talking about Judge Rawlinson for YEARS. She would be a wonderful choice for Obama to submit for the SCOTUS.
Cute and brilliant, yes we are!

contact with the voters; impact on finding new revenues
In the end, I think Nevada voters really got a feel for Obama, based on his many visits here.
These new majorities in both houses of the legislature should help us find and develop new revenue sources, the number one business right now for Nevada lawmakers.

considering

that Nevada is more than likely to get another seat after 2010 there will be major redistricting anyway. The only question is whether they'll draw three safe Dem Clark seats or whether they'll devide the rurals to be included in more than one seat. For example add eastern Nevada along the border with Utah to a Clark seat and have the Washoe seat go more into Clark County. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Obama/Derby Vote Total Stunner in CD2

article by me reposted from http://renothirdeye.wordpress.com
Obama/Derby Vote Total Stunner in CD2
Without adding in the results from North Las Vegas (where I have yet to find Obama's results from this specific locale posted anywhere), Barack Obama received 152,620 votes in all the other areas of Congressional District 2 of Nevada. Jill Derby, the Democratic nominee for that Congressional seat, received 124, 617 votes. Add in her Clark County (North Las Vegas) results, and she received 136,313 votes altogether against Dean Heller's 170,615 votes.
In Clark County, Obama received 58.4% and Derby received 47.4% the vote of the small part of Clark County that was able to vote for her (or Dean Heller). Jill Derby got 11,706 votes in North Las Vegas. Say Barack Obama got just a little more than that (fair to presume, given his overall county percentage), then Obama's vote totals for all of CD2 likely put him only a few thousand shy of Dean Heller's totals for the district. Whereas Jill Derby lost to Heller by 34,302 votes!!
